15 years and counting for Wiltshire's premier independent recruiter

Julian and Melody Thompson of 24-7 Staffing holding 15 year anniversary cake.

We're thrilled and delighted to be celebrating a significant milestone this year - 24-7 Staffing's 15th birthday.

To mark the occasion, we threw a party for staff, candidates, clients, suppliers and friends, and more than 100 people came along to toast the success of the business and to chat to our fantastic team.

Since our company was created in 2004, by directors Julian and Melody Thompson, we have gone from strength to strength. We started life in rented offices in Chippenham, but now operate from our own Chippenham headquarters and also have branches in Bristol and Salisbury.

Having initially serviced the driving sector, we have expanded to cover commercial, industrial and most recently, healthcare

Over the 15 years, we have:

We have been proud and privileged to work with more than 300 clients across all four of our sectors. These include supply chains solutions company XPO Logistics, civil engineering and waste management company MJ Church, Wiltshire Council, landscaping firm idverde, housing and support charity Olpa and fundraising services provider Woods Valldata Group

We were so delighted to use the fantastic products from two of our clients - The Fine Cheese Company and Tracklements - to make up 15th-anniversary gifts for a selection of our clients.

Our Managing Director, Julian Thompson, said: "We're delighted and proud to be marking this milestone and to have had so many of our clients, candidates and friends coming along to celebrate with us, but we are not resting on our laurels. To ensure our continued success, we will carry on making significant investments in the business and in internal staff development, because we recognise the important role they play in helping us to achieve shared goals with our clients and candidates. In a challenging recruitment market, where there is low unemployment, we are continually looking at ways to improve, develop and grow our business."

From the small team we had in the early days, we have grown to a staff of 28, some of whom have been with us for more than ten years.

The many accolades we have garnered include winning Wiltshire Business and Chippenham Business annual awards. We are a long-standing supporter of Business Against Poverty.

We are proud to say we are a Living Wage employer, which means all our staff are paid at least the Living Wage, even if they are under 25 and only entitled to the minimum wage.

We also took the decision in 2016 to move candidates away from self-employed and umbrella companies and onto PAYE to protect the business, clients and candidates from the future risk of unpaid tax. Julian himself is a national and international CPC holder in transport management.

Local charities we have supported include the Rise Trust, Doorway Project and Wiltshire Air Ambulance. This June, we are also supporting National Armed Forces Day, which is being celebrated in Salisbury, as a way of marking the close connection we have with the Services; many of our candidates, staff and their dependents are serving or ex-serving Forces personnel.

Our Co-Director, Melody Thompson, added: "One of the main reasons we love the business is because we can change people's lived through the work we do - that's really worth getting up for in the morning! Our consultants derive a huge sense of satisfaction from their roles when they find the perfect match between a client and candidate.

We feel we help to create a great sense of community among our 24-7 Staffing clients, candidates and friends and this really came across at the party, where so many people were there to support us."
