"I left the Army in October 2011 after completing 22 years in the Army. I started my resettlement from July onwards and with the downturn in the economy it was very difficult to find the right type of employment and salary within the area. During my job searching it came apparent that HGV drivers were in demand within the area. After speaking to various friends and businesses within the area, I had all the right driving qualifications but not the commercial experience required. I approached a number of agencies, but was simply not getting enough work to support myself. They all promised regular work or wanted to fill a gap that no one else wanted to fill. I hardly used my newly acquired HIAB and ADR licences. This became very irritating and unreliable. I approached Nathan Carr the transport manager of Hills Waste Solutions based in Calne, Wiltshire to see if there was a possibility of work experience within the company. Nathan recommended that I register with 24-7 Staffing to gain the commercial experience needed within the transport business before pursuing full time employment. 24-7 Staffing were very helpful and understood my needs from the start. Looking at my driving qualifications they identified my strengths and weaknesses. Within a day of coming to see them, I had regular work and loved the change of career. They gave me the opportunity to utilise all my driving qualification HIAB, ADR, HGV Class 1 & 2. Before long I was out working on a permanent contract with a local general haulage client"
