Job Description

We are looking for a Despatch Operative to work for our well respected client, who have designed, manufactured and sold interconnects and speaker cable to the trade and public for over 25 years.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Ensures all complete orders are picked and packed and ready for despatch
  • Ensures core stock is allocated appropriately to enable efficient despatch of goods
  • Liaise with sales administration to ensure clear communication between despatch / sales processing
  • Ensures that appropriate staff members are aware of any changes regarding the dispatch function
  • Sends out each package using the most cost effective, safe and efficient method
  • Ensures goods are packed with adequate protection to withstand the rigours of transport
  • Tracks the whereabouts of parcels, which are missing or lost, to the enquirer's satisfaction
  • Ensures appropriate systems are in place for readily tracking costs and despatch details on all goods out
  • Actively resolves any discrepancies on despatched sales orders
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience of working in a warehouse environment
  • Experience of routine office administration
  • Experience of working to high levels of health and safety standards
