Job Description

My client is seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Engineer to join their thriving business.

The successful candidate will maintain, repair and calibrate equipment relating to the manufacturing and testing of High-Power Semiconductor devices.

 

Your duties will include, though not limited to:

  • Maintain equipment produced
  • Fault finding to component level on high voltage, analogue, digital and microprocessor based electronic equipment
  • Read and understand circuit schematic drawings
  • Use of diagnostic test equipment including the everyday use of oscilloscopes
  • Measure high voltage and current
  • Fully understand calibration principles
  • Possess some knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Understand Risk Assessments
  • Operate fully within the guidelines for Health & Safety and emergency procedures, particularly those identified in the Occupational Health & Safety Management System

 

To be successful in the role:

  • Experience of fault finding to component level essential
  • Self-motivated, with a flexible attitude towards the role
  • A positive team attitude with the added ability to work individually to get the work done
  • Be able to deal with changing priorities and use own initiative
  • Due to the nature of the role, a flexible approach is required to meet occasional unscheduled demands
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels & build relationships with all departments
  • Commit to the continuous improvement & effectiveness of the Maintenance team
  • Work occasional overtime if the need arises on critical equipment and be available for a call out roster 

 

Essential Qualifications/ job requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship in an electronic engineering discipline
  • HNC in Electronic Engineering
