We currently have a vacancy for a light vehicle technician. This is a different role to that of a normal retail garage and involves the maintenance of a major manufacturer’s press and public relations vehicle fleet.
As a subsidiary we specialise in the management, preparation and movement of press and corporate fleet vehicles. This involves new and used vehicle preparation, diagnosis of mechanical and electrical issues, parts and accessories evaluation, provision of feedback to the manufacturer.
We need an experienced technician who will work as part of a small team. The right person will be a team player who works well under pressure and has a passion for both customer service and the latest automotive technologies. Your main responsibilities will be to carry out maintenance and repair work on a press and public relations vehicle fleet to a high standard following the manufacturer procedures. This will involve use of manufacturer diagnostic equipment and will include Electric and Hybrid vehicles. You will need to be capable of working to a high standard and work unsupervised. You will need on occasion to speak directly to our customer and liaise with the manufacturer’s after sales team. You will need to be able on occasion to produce simple reports on technical issues. You will need to become familiar with parts ordering procedure directly from the manufacturer. As part of a small team you will need to be flexible taking part in house keeping and on occasion valeting and assisting in vehicle movements. Additionally on occasion you may be called upon to work off site supporting events where vehicles are presented both in the UK and abroad.
Have the ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing unsupervised.
Recognised qualifications – IMI Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
Be conversant with current generation vehicle diagnostic equipment.
Desirable to have experience and qualifications to service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.
Desirable to have experience and qualifications to work on EV/Hybrid vehicles.
Hold a full and valid UK driving licence.
Be prepared to learn, attend training courses and attain accreditation's where necessary

Salary & contract
We will be offering a 4 year fixed term contract (end date 31st December 2019) with a salary of £21 - £25k gross per annum depending on experience.
