Job Description
Our client, a multi award winning and growing Chartered Accountancy and Business Services Firm are currently seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving company. The successful candidate will work with the Business Services team, undertake a variety of Bookkeeping, VAT and Management Accounting tasks for clients.
Main Duties
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts monthly and quarterly, ensuring details are accurate with clear neat working papers to reflect the accounts produced and ensuring clear cross-referencing
- Assist with bookkeeping for a variety of clients as allocated by the line manager, inputting data and processing payments as required
- Visit client sites as required to carry out bookkeeping
- Maintain a full and accurate audit trail by filing and referencing documents in a timely manner
- Support with the preparation of written correspondence to clients
- Adhere to proper accounting standards
- Meet deadlines and time budgets
- Complete VAT returns for allocated clients
- Composing correspondence to clients, tax office, registrar of companies and others
- Identifying opportunities for the provision of additional services advising more senior staff of these.
- Actively supporting all sales, promotional, marketing and networking activities of the organisation either to current clients or targets.
Education & Qualifications
- Bookkeeping experience in a Practice environment is desirable
- AAT Level 3-4 Qualification is desirable, though not essential
- Education to A level or equivalent
Experience & Knowledge
- IT-literate – Microsoft Office, accounts and other packages
- VAT experience desirable
- Knowledge of a cloud accounting and desktop packages desirable

- Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel, to an intermediate level, to produce letters and spreadsheets
