Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge working for a well established growing business in Yate? Our Client is looking for a Quality Control Surveyor to join their busy team. Please see below for full details;

Purpose of the Job

  • Full training is given.
  • The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that products manufactured and distributed by Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd are of satisfactory quality to meet customer needs.
  • To facilitate constant improvements to formulae and processes to achieve ‘right-first-time’ targets

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Quality control, to include all testing and the maintenance and updating of all records;
  • Making adjustments to inks and varnishes which fail first QC checks;
  • Supporting investigation of production issues and customer complaints;
  • Supporting identification of work-off possibilities of products out of specification;
  • Supporting Customer service with colour matchings and lab work for technical enquiries;
  • Co-ordinating with other staff to ensure the smooth streamlined running within the laboratory and supporting other departmental relationships;
  • Liaising with internal customers, where necessary, with regard to the progress of enquiries;
  • To actively participate in continuous improvement programs for QC and production processes;
  • Responsible for ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Company operating procedures;
  • Organise work according to Company Lean principles, including 5S;
  • Adhere to all Company and H & S policies and procedures;
  • Active participation in H & S ‘Continuous Improvement’ activities;

Qualifications/Skills

  • Literacy and numeracy – The keeping of records both in paper files and computer formats;
  • Computer skills – A working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ideally some SAP knowledge, not a must;
  • A keen interest and/or qualifications in a science discipline and/or knowledge of ink making is desirable;
  • Works in an organised and methodical manner;
  • Teamwork – Working within and across teams and departments;
  • Communication – Clear communication skills as dealing with Production and Technical colleagues;
  • Self-motivation - High level of self-motivation to be able to work independently;
  • Decision making – Confidence to make decisions affecting the products delivered to customers;
  • Organisation – The need to multi-task on a regular basis, working to tight and/or agreed timelines;
  • Flexibility – The ability to learn new skills and challenge yourself;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines;
  • Any eye for detail and experience of adhering to quality standards e.g. ISO 9001;
  • Confident with day to day use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.
